Two FOLC articles in the Fall 2024 edition of Forest & River News
Be sure to check out the Fall 2024 edition of Trees Foundation’s Forest & River News for two articles by Board and staff members of Friends of the Lost Coast! In Cheryl Lisin’s regular column, Plant Notes, she discusses mycotrophs, a fascinating type of plant that has no green parts at all and doesn’t make its own food, but rather gets nutrients from mycorrhizal fungi in the soil.
The issue also features the second article in a new series, Everyone Can Do Science, by FOLC’s Environmental Education Coordinator, Taylor Faye Benedict, where she discusses the water cycle and an activity kids and families can do at home to create their own watershed model.
