Friends of the Lost Coast and BLM King Range’s Trailhead Hosts program organizes volunteers to assist BLM with engaging visitors at Black Sands Beach in Shelter Cove on the weekends of highest summer usage – Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Our Trailhead Hosts answer questions and share information about the King Range, beach safety, park rules/regulations, and Leave No Trace principles. This Labor Day Weekend event runs 4 days, September4 thru 7, and will be held at the Black Sands Beach trailhead, located at 856 Beach Rd in Shelter Cove.
