40 Years of Monitoring Salmon & Steelhead in the Mattole: What Have We Learned & What Does it Mean for Restoration?

The Mattole Salmon Group and partners have been monitoring salmon and steelhead populations in the Mattole for over four decades, and Fisheries Biologist Nathan Queener and Executive Director Richard Sykes will discuss what we know about the abundance and distribution of steelhead, coho salmon, and Chinook salmon in the watershed; how habitat conditions for fish have changed over that time; and what the MSG sees as the most important work to be done to increase the numbers of fish returning to the watershed.
