Gardening with native plants is easy, lends natural beauty to your garden, and
makes pollinators happy! Join Friends of the Lost Coast for a Native Plant Sale and
Garden Work Party on Sunday, May 21, from 10a.m. to 1p.m. at the Lost Coast
Education Center in Whitethorn. You can choose to work with us in our
demonstration garden, shop in our nursery, or both! Our nursery has a wide
selection of flowering native annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and grasses. The
event is also a work party, where garden tasks include planting, weeding, mulching,
and flipping compost – with free clarkia seedlings for volunteers! Volunteering with
us is a great way to learn about gardening with natives and professional landscape
designer, Cheryl Lisin, will be on hand to consult about your planting needs. The
Lost Coast Education Center & Native Plant Garden is located at the BLM King Range
complex near 768 Shelter Cove Road. Look for the sign that says Native Plants!
