National Public Lands Day

September 28 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Friends of the Lost Coast and BLM King Range invite all for a day of service and fun on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 28. Meet 10 a.m. at Mal Coombs Park in Shelter Cove, where we’ll break into groups for different projects – including an Adopt A Beach cleanup in celebration of CA Coastal Cleanup Day! The day will culminate back at Mal Coombs Park with lunch at 1:15 p.m. Volunteers will receive a National Public Lands Day t-shirt, free public lands pass, and lunch. National Public Lands Day is the largest volunteer stewardship event of the year, with service projects happening throughout the U.S. – and combining efforts with CA Coastal Cleanup Day will make it even bigger this year! A limited number of $10/hr stipends are available to youth, ages 10-17. Email [email protected] to volunteer for the Adopt A Beach program and [email protected] for general info or to register for a youth stipend.
