Local trail enthusiasts are invited to join Friends of the Lost Coast for a trail stewards workday on Chemise Mountain Trail in the King Range on Sunday, January 9 from 10a.m. to 2p.m., weather permitting. Continuing with the trail work conducted in December, this workday will focus on brush clearing at the top of Chemise Mountain, improving trail tread, and other maintenance needs. The Lost Coast Trail Stewards crew will meet at Nadelos Campground on Chemise Mountain Rd. for the approximately 1.5 mile uphill hike to the overlooks. Tools are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks, water, and gloves, plus dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. This is a great opportunity to meet other trail enthusiasts while also helping maintain/enhance our local trails and assist BLM staff with a backlog of trail maintenance projects.   For more information or to RSVP for the workday, email [email protected].
