Creating Pollinator Sanctuaries w/ Native Plants Workshop
March 8 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

On Saturday, March 8, Friends of the Lost Coast will host a free workshop on creating pollinator sanctuaries with native plants. Restoration ecologist and permaculture designer Kyle Keegan will teach participants how to use the quick and easy method of “sheet mulching” to convert yard, orchard and garden areas into sanctuaries for native pollinators. This workshop will also discuss plant varieties used to attract and support a diverse array of native species, including butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Participants will be able to see a variety of pollinator sanctuaries already established and will also see a small native plant nursery in action.
This workshop will take place at the Fool’s Farm in Salmon Creek, from 10am to 2pm. Space is limited to 15 participants, with advance registration required. Carpooling is encouraged and directions, plus caravan/carpool options, will be shared with registrants prior to the event. Please bring a lunch, water, gloves, and work clothes. Steady rain cancels the event. To register email [email protected]
